Our Editorial Team

Voices of Texas does not run personal bylines. Every article publishes under the publication's masthead, and responsibility for the reporting sits with the newsroom rather than with a named individual. Readers sometimes expect a roster of writers with photographs and biographies here. This publication is organized differently, and this page explains how.

Work is assigned and edited by section desk. Each desk owns a subject area, sets the standard for what its coverage has to prove, and carries stories from reporting through publication. The eight desks are:

No individual writer, credential, or headshot is presented on this site, because pinning the work to one name would misrepresent how it is produced. What can be judged instead is the record: the sources each article names and the standards set out in the editorial policy. That is the accountability this model offers, and it is the standard the publication expects to be held to.
